On May 9, 2014, 2:00pm, in C3-104, the Commercial College had the honor to invite Liwei to make academic report in regard to “Shanghai Free Trade Zone”. Liwei is the deputy director of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee Social and Economic Law Committee, CPPCC Standing Committee of Huqiu District in Suzhou City, democrat and member of Jiusan Society.

Before the seminar, the dean Wang Zhongjun and teacher Shirong introduced Liwei to classmates. After Liwei presented his compliments to students, he also sincerely invited everyone to cooperate with him in future scientific research and work.

Firstly, focusing the generation of Free Trade Zone (FTZ), Liwei published his own opinions with regard to the change of world economy situation and response. He developed his opinions mainly from the issues like “how to recognize the change of world pattern” and “opportunity and challenge to Chinese economy”. Next, Mr. Li analyzed the advantages and disadvantages towards Suzhou FTZ and Shanghai FTZ in a dialectical way, and explained with detailed cases. Students got the rough and comprehensive understanding to FTZ and its current situation, development within short time.

The contents in this seminar are closely connected with the current Suzhou economy and China’s economic development. Through this seminar, students could know further the background and prospect as well as get enlightenment on relative issues. Meanwhile, students also realized that the economic life is closely linked personal life. This seminar deepened their control and comprehending to macroeconomic issues.
