Professor Xing is recognized as an Outstanding Teacher of the "Qinglan Project" of Jiangsu Province and serves as the Director of the Suzhou National Tourism Standard Research and Promotion Demonstration Center. She is a national-level expert for the evaluation and review of tourist homestays, an Executive Director of the Jiangsu Tourism Society, a Vice President of its Tourism Economy Industry Branch.
Professor Xing’s research focuses on tourism management, standardization, tourism enterprise operation management, and service innovation. She has led three commissioned projects for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, one project funded by the Jiangsu Provincial Social Science Fund, one key project under the Philosophy and Social Sciences Program of Jiangsu Provincial Universities, two commissioned projects for the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and over 60 commissioned projects for administrative departments, enterprises, and other organizations.
She is co-author of the book Suzhou City: Innovation and Development and compiler of the textbook Cases of Modern Hotel Management and Service, which forms part of the "21st Century National Higher Education Tourism Management Innovative Applied Talent Training Program." She has also edited the textbook Introduction to Tourist Hotel Management. Additionally, she has served as an associate editor or contributor to eight other textbooks. She has published over 40 academic papers as first author or sole author.
In the field of standardization, Professor Xing has led and served as the primary drafter of a total of eight standards: the national standard GB/T 18973-2022 – Requirements and Evaluation of Tourist Toilets; the Jiangsu provincial standard DB32/T 1666-2016 – Classification and Evaluation of Rural Tourism Areas; the revised version of DB32/T 2039-2019 – Specifications and Evaluation of Industrial Tourism Areas; and three Suzhou municipal standards – DB3205/T 1092-2023 (Guidelines for Smart Management and Service of Digital Scenic Areas), DB3205/T 1078-2023 (Operational Management and Service Specifications for Talent Apartments), and DB3205/T 1183-2025 (Tourism Service Specifications for Aviation Flight Camps).
Professor Xing’s relevant achievements have earned her a total of eight awards: the First Prize of the China Service Innovation Award of the Ministry of Commerce; the Second Prize of the National Commercial Science and Technology Progress Award; the Second Prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Applied Social Science Research Excellence Award; the Third Prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Education Teaching and Research Achievement Award; and the Third Prize of the Suzhou Municipal Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences.
